Stipendiary Lectureship in Biological Sciences (9 Feb)

St John's College intends to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Biological Sciences for the period 1st October 2018 – 30th September 2019. This is a temporary, fixed-term position created to provide substitute teaching during a Tutor’s period of leave and will therefore not be extended or renewed.

The successful candidate will be required to teach up to six weighted hours of undergraduate tutorials per week during the academic terms and to assume responsibility for administrative and pastoral duties for undergraduates reading for undergraduate degrees in Biological Sciences. They will also be expected to take part in the annual undergraduate admissions exercise.

Candidates must be able to teach a range of topics for the first and second year of the Biological Sciences course, with a preference for Animal Behaviour and the Organisms component of the first year course. Preference will be given to candidates who have, or expect to have completed by 1st October 2018, a doctorate in Biological Sciences

The salary will be £13,248 per annum (subject to revision in line with any general salary increases).  Full dining rights throughout the period of appointment will be offered.  A teaching room will be provided and teaching & research expenses are also available.
