We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join the Finance team at the Department of Zoology.
Responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, checking and preparing invoices for payment, checking and coding expense claims. You will also contribute towards the development and implementation of departmental financial procedures whilst ensuring that all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with the University and external financial regulations. Other duties will include completing the monthly INTRASTAT return as well as issuing petty cash ensuring relevant receipts are retained.
You must be educated to A level standard or equivalent, have GCSE grade C (or equivalent) or above in maths and English, proficiency in written and spoken English and excellent IT skills with knowledge and experience of MS Office applications. Accuracy and attention to detail is essential, as well as a tactful and confidential approach. Experience of financial administration or accounts work within the University and knowledge of University financial procedures would be an advantage.
This is a part-time (25 hours per week) permanent position.
