Thesis title: Toll-like receptors of Acropora corals: function, diversity and implications for coral health
Research interests: My thesis examines the putative immune function of toll-like receptors (TLRs) in corals of the genus Acropora, and investigates how TLR diversity contributes to coral health in Acropora corals in the Chagos Archipelago. My academic interests span evolutionary and ecological immunology, and conservation, with a growing interest in rewilding. I previously contributed to NGO work on sustainable livelihoods, and reviewed the role of species translocations for adaptation to climate change strategies in Europe. I am a trained PADI divemaster.
