Nafeesa is the Research Coordinator for the Oxford Martin Programme on the Illegal Wildlife Trade. She is responsible for the outreach and impact components of the programme including dissemination, knowledge exchange, translating research into impact, as well as strategic development and creation of an interdisciplinary Global Wildlife Trade Hub. Her research interests lie in emerging issues, current research trends and interventions within wildlife trade.
She has a Masters degree in Conservation Science from Imperial College London, during which she investigated Conservation Conflicts in Zambia in collaboration with Frankfurt Zoological Society. Previously, Nafeesa has worked for various research, NGO and government institutions in applied conservation involving stakeholder engagement, education and outreach, communication, as well as in natural capital consultancy and within the private sector in business development and management.
