I am working on a project to develop an Eco-Metric tool that will help individuals and institutions to keep track of the environmental impact of their actions, in terms of greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity impacts. This project will primarily focus on the environmental impacts of the food system. This research aims to understand the requirements for the functionality of such a tool for catering end-users. This project aims to build a tool that quantifies the environmental impact of catering, as well as quantifying the reduction in environmental impact that can be achieved through applying strategies that align with the four steps of the Mitigation and Conservation Hierarchy. Such a tool would help users track their environmental impacts over time, and help them to explore options for reducing their impact so that environmental targets can be reached.
