Ad-hoc Seminar hosted by Long-term Ecology Group: "LakePulse network: First Canada-wide assessment of lakes”

Professor Irene Gregory-Eaves (department of Biology, McGill University) has been on sabbatical in the department this year hosted by Prof. Kathy Willis. She will present a 45-min seminar followed by 15 mins for Q&A on the preliminary research findings from the LakePulse NSERC-funded network that is assessing the current biotic and abiotic conditions in 633 Canadian lakes relative to pre-industrial conditions. Research findings from this network are already providing a much-needed perspective on the spatio-temporal changes of lake aquatic ecosystems in Canada, a country that is a key steward of a significant proportion of global inland waters.
