Research Interests

I have broad interests in ecology and conservation biology, including the study of population ecology, behavioural ecology and control of invasive species. I completed my DPhil on the subject of water vole conservation ecology in 2003 and went on to design and implement a replicated water vole reintroduction experiment which resulted in the successful establishment of seven new populations in the Upper Thames. Following this I studied American signal crayfish and their impacts on British riparian flora and aquifauna. I am currently in the first year of a study examining how permeable agricultural landscapes may be to dispersing hedgehogs, attempting to discover whether simple alterations to the arable landscape might be expected to improve population connectivity.
