After a few years spent in Forensic Gentic Laboratories in Italy and Spain, my work is now focused on population genetic studies. Here in Oxford, I’m working on a project in which we are trying to trace the genetic legacy of Greek colonisation in South Italy and Sicily. In particular, we are investigating the male lineages by a combination of slow and fast evolving markers (SNPs and STRs), to provide a resolution ranging from populations to single lineages.
