Autobiography

Following an unorthodox route from the concrete magic of the venerable UEA via a period of independent proposal writing (not a great deal of novelty in the inadvertent description of existing ideas) and dalliance with responsibility with an ecological consultancy I was fortunate enough to infiltrate the very venerable EGI.

I have a passion for all that respires (single cellular and autotrophic exceptions) and a particular interest in the behaviour, ecology and if I'm honest, 'value' of birds. I have visited South East Asia, the Middle East, North America and much of Britain. An additional consuming obsession is the music of the Bluetones; the greatest band on earth.

Research Activities

Under the supervision of Tommaso Pizzari I hope to investigate proximate mechanisms responsible for patterns of sperm allocation in the red junglefowl Gallus gallus - today chickens, tomorrow pittas.
