Autobiography

I completed my BSc (Hons) in Zoology at the University of Glasgow in 2006. After my degree I took a break from study and took part in a variety of field projects such as studying small mammal ecology at the University of British Columbia. I then began my MSc in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation at Imperial College London. My MSc thesis focused on female choice based on male age and the indirect benefits that this preference may confer using the milkweed bug (Oncopeltus fasciatus) as the study organism. After graduating in 2009 I travelled to the University of Florida on a research internship to study genotype-by-environment interactions and sexual selection in cactus bugs. My DPhil at the University of Oxford will focus on the evolutionary ecology of sexual networks in red jungle fowl under the supervision of Dr Tommaso Pizzari and Prof Tom Snijders.

Research Activities

Evolutionary ecology, Sexual selection, Network analysis.
